With the acquisition of each brand under the Pancake House group, management focuses not only on reinforcing the brand’s existing strengths and appeal; it also looks carefully into how much further the brand can be developed so that it can grow even more with new energy and vigor. Prior restaurant management experience is an advantage but not a requirement for franchisees. Nevertheless, experienced or not, interested franchisees must be willing to undergo full-time training so that they can immerse themselves fully in the brand culture, systems and procedures. Moreover, they must know how to manage people well – the staff are likewise crucial partners toward successful franchise operations – and must be willing to devote their time and resources to oversee their franchised outlet.
Franchising is open to individuals as well as corporations. In the case of corporations, the majority owner is considered the representative of the franchised outlet.
